The Beach Cat Regatta was held on September 11, 12 and 13, 2026 and included the Canadian SeaSpray Nationals and the North Americans. This meant we had competitors from the US, which made the races extra interesting. 

The weather was decent, with a bit of a breeze on day 1, not so much on day 2 and a grand finale on day 3 with an even nicer breeze. Well from our perspective, as supporter on the sideline, safely on the shore. 

It was really a lovely weekend, low key, good food, a quizz by the campfire and great company. 

A huge shout out to the volunteers during the races. Scott & Cindy who ran the races like pro’s, Chuck and Greg on the Marks boat and Dave and Stefan on the rescue boat. And an enormous thank you to all the volunteers in the kitchen: Sharon, Betty, Mandy & Nicole, and all the other ladies who helped getting the food cut up and out on the table. And a special thanks to the pancake brigade & fly squatter’s platoon 🙂
