Prairie Wind Regatta 2025
This year’s Prairie Wind Regatta will take place on July 12 and 13. On this page you will find all relevant information & the registration form. SI’s will be available at the Clubhouse during check in on Friday July 11 from 6pm onwards. .
ILCA District 5 Series
We are excited to announce that this year’s Prairie Wind Regatta is part of the Ilca District 5 Series: a 4 race series in Alberta & Saskatoon. This year’s races are:
- Saskatoon Dinghy Provincials – Saskatoon Sailing Club – 28th – 29th June
- Alberta Prairie Winds Regatta– Newell Sailing Club – 12th – 13th July
- Sask Short Races Regatta – Saskatoon Sailing Club – 26th – 27th July
- Alberta Dinghy Provincials – Wabamun Sailing Club – 30th August – 1st September
BeachCat Regatta & Seaspray Nationals 2025
Newell Sailing Club will also be hosting the Seaspray Nationals 2025 in September during our BeachCat regatta on September 5, 6 and 7.
Just for clarity: catamarans are more than welcome to participate both in the Prairie Wind Regatta as well as the BeachCat regatta. More information about the BeachCat regatta will follow after the PWR 2025

The registration form can be found below. Please fill in a separate registration for each boat!
After registering, you will receive an email with a confirmation letter/invoice. Note that your registration will only be complete after we receive your payment.

Meal Plan
We offer a meal plan for all sailors and their cheering squad, which includes dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday. You all know the caterers, so you know it will be good!!
You can order your meal plan through the registration form!
NOTE that the boats do not come in for lunch on Saturday! So make sure to pack your lunch and take it with you on the boat!
