NOTICE OF RACE (NoR)
1. RULES
The event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
2. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS (SI’s)
The SI’s will be available after 1800hrs on 6th of July at the NSC.
3. COMMUNICATION
The official notice board is located in the screened porch of the clubhouse.
4. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 The event is open to all classes.
4.2 To be considered an entry in the event, a boat shall have completed all registration requirements and paid all fees.
4.3 Boats, not competing as a Fireball or SeaSpray, of the same class registered by the 7th of July at 0855 hrs may be scored as a fleet at the discretion of the Race Officer (RO). All other boats will be scored using the current wind adjusted Portsmouth handicapping system.
5. FEES
5.1 Registering can be done online or on site. If registering online, you have the option to buy a meal plan.

5.2 The fee for the regattas includes: the regatta; and wine & cheese reception.:

5.3 Evening Meals can be ordered when registering online. This is the only way to ensure your meals! Registering on site might end in disappointment in case the caterer cannot respond to late orders):

6.2 Ten races are scheduled for the Prairie Wind Regatta.
6.3 Fifteen races are scheduled for the Fireball & SeaSpray National Championships.
7. VENUE
Racing will take place on the waters at Kinbrook Island Provincial Park on Newell Lake, Alberta.
8. COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be Windward/Leeward with a Hollywood Finish.
9. SCORING
9.1 One race is required to be completed to constitute a series.
9.2 (a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When from 5 to 10 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
(c) When more than 10 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.
10. RISK STATEMENT
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 3, DECISION TO RACE. The OA will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regattas.
11. INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $1,000,000 per incident or the equivalent for the duration of the regattas.
