The first race today was delayed for an hour waiting for wind, but it was worth the wait. At 11:30 it was sunny, a pleasant 25C with steady winds of 8 -12 knots. In the 2.4s our own Paul Tingley won the first race with a good 20 boat lengths to spare. In the second race, with steady 12 knot winds, the Dutch came back with the win and Paul only managed a 6th. After 7 races Paul has won the most races, but is down in 3rd place as a result of a few poor finishes. The French boat has only won one race, but has been very consistent with a 4th his worst placing, and firmly in first place, 4 points ahead of the Dutch and 5 points ahead of Paul. Canada owns 5 of the last 7 places. It was a perfect day for racing on Charlotte Harbor. I am off tomorrow, but will be back on the job Saturday. Hopefully can get some pictures of the Canadians. Weather cools off tomorrow with highs for the next few days 16 - 20C, but winds should be good with the cold front moving in. Dont't forget to check out the Charlotte Harbor Regatta Feb 2 -5, http://www.charlotteharborregatta.com/wordpress/, several of the classes we sail at the NSC are represented. How about some representatives from the club for next years Regatta? I think we can do a deal on accommodation. Gord |
