The winter preparations were carried out for the most part.  We had good attendance with many members helping to prepare the club for winter and to tend to their boats by either dropping masts and moving them home or getting them ready for the winter.

AGM highlights included final reports by the treasurer of the club's finances, the rentals report, kayaking report, and windsurfing report.  A few unfinished projects for 2018 include moving the east access gate further to the south and possible upgrade to the tin boat (our marks boat for regattas).  After a lengthy discussion regarding 2018 dues mostly revolving around inactive boats and their owners and the dues for longer cruisers, the motion vote was postponed for the meeting on Jan 1 2018.  Possibly a newsletter to the membership will generate some more responses on this subject.  The club has very low dues when compared to other sailing clubs. The reason for the low dues is to attract more members and not to simply increase the number of boats stored.  The goal is to also encourage more active participation in operations of the club as well as to encourage more sailing, windsurfing and kayaking activities.
