New Year's Social

Around 40 people enjoyed the fair weather and friendly get together to welcome our New Year.  Although the ice wasn't very good due to the warm weather a few people got out for some skating.  Cross country skiing was very good and a lot of people enjoyed touring the park.  Before the potluck supper a short executive meeting set the tone for the year.  The next get together will be in the early spring for the club preparation day set for either late April or early May.  There will be a kayak, windsurf and learn to sail program again this year.  The club has a number of sailing items for sale as always.  This is for the purposes of new members having access to reasonably priced sailing/windsurfing equipment.
The regatta planning will start to take place later this spring.  The club will host the Seaspray Nationals and possibly the Fireball Nationals.  There has been interest expressed in some kind of Kite boarding racing or demonstration although nothing has been finalized.  Other fleets including the SJ21 have indicated some interest.  The event will take place on the second full weekend of July again this year.
