Thanks to Dave and family for getting the building and the skating rink ready for the New Year's day social.  The weather was great and the event was well attended with the pond hockey game being the focal point for outdoor activities.  The kids against the adults game was a lot more even this year due to the kids being a little bit bigger and with better skills.  There was lots of catching up on news amongst members and future plans for the upcoming year.  Around 5 pm the potluck supper got started and things finished up around 7:30 pm.  Once again the desserts were a hit!
The Doug and Liz Jackson family donated a very nice optimist racing dinghy to the sailing club.  Doug and Greg came out and enjoyed the day with club members and announced their move to Australia.  We hope that all goes well and wish them the best of luck.  Greg was involved in the sailboard program and participated at the Youth Nationals in Gimli, Manitoba this past summer.  Our club members are very grateful and thank the Jackson family for their generous donation.
