AGM and Winter prep day Oct 13/2018

A well attended, despite the weather, work/meeting/potluck day went well.  A lot of work was completed on the berm and beach area that was subject to so much storm flooding over the course of the 2018 season.  With the lake being kept at a full level for a much longer time during the season, this work became necessary.  Although it is experimental work, something had to be done to avert a repeat of this season's flooding in the 2019 season.  We have become a little like Holland and will probably have to add some type of sump pumping system as well.  The other routine maintenance items were mostly completed and the club is ready for the winter season.

An AGM meeting was held, nearly on schedule and lasted less than an hour.  The potluck supper was again outstanding and a lot of happy conversation took place over the course of the evening.  We have a new executive and once the minutes are sent out the website will be updated.

The replacement of the replacement windows are nearly here and with the improvements in the weather over the next week it is planned to have another work day to get the windows in again.  The wrong windows were sent out and inadvertently installed.  The windows we actually paid for were dark coloured brown and had a wider brick molding.  It cost considerably more for the colour and wider molding so the supplier offered to correct the problem.  Perhaps if enough people show up another screen door can be installed as well.
